As one of the industry’s leading microneedling specialists in South Africa we provide expert care with superior results.
Also know as collagen induction therapy, people always wonder how microneedling really works, so we are here to shed some light. During our treatment, a microneedling pen will be used with micro-fine needles to press into the layer of skin for rejuvenation. Following that, acoustic waves or mechanical pressure is emitted on the skin which creates a push and pull effect, exfoliating the skin by removing excess sebum and dead skin cells.
The vibration that is present during this microneedling treatment causes gaseous bubbles within the skin’s barrier to rapidly swell and collapse, which allows for more fluidity in the tissue in order to let topical ingredients and serums applied to penetrate the skin more deeply and effectively.
Recovery time is an average of three days while the skin might be sensitive initially. However, your sensitive skin sensation will subdue in the coming days.
Numerous clinical studies and extensive laboratory testing has proven the ability of microneedling to deliver active ingredients far beyond the skin barrier and has shown great improvement in the skin’s overall clarity, tone and texture following each microneedling treatment. With a multitude of benefits, the treatment helps address numerous skin concerns and helps reduce the appearance and signs of aging while stimulating collagen.
After doing some research and seeing microneedling before and after images and reading microneedling reviews, we added it to our services.
Amongst all areas to be treated we I have seen some great results with microneedling for dark circles under eyes and many other areas. It can improve the look of acne scars, facial scars, scars and stretch marks.

Microneedling cost in South Africa vary, this is because of various factors such as the microneedling rollers used, if numbing cream is applied as part of the treatment (we do!), the skincare products, growth factors applied during treatment according to your skin concerns. Professional microneedling is generally more effective to home microneedling as the microneedling devices aren’t as strong.

There are many benefits of microneedling which makes it one of our most popular treatments. Some of these benefits include a reduction in wrinkles and fine lines, it can help reduce the appearance scars and stretch marks, it prevents early signs of aging and it improves the tone and texture of your skin. Professional microneedling should be one of your go-to antiaging treatments as it increases collagen production.
Both Mesotherapy and microneedling are inoffice treatments involving tiny (micro) needles but there is one small difference between these two treatments. While mesotherapy injects, microneedling merely makes little wounds. They basically do the same thing and give the same results, just with different methods.
Doing a chemical peel together with skin microneedling is highly advisable and holds many benefits. However, due to the intensity of both of these treatments, we strongly advise our clients to wait 2-4 weeks between these two treatments to allow your skin time to heal. Combine microneedling and chemical peels to see even more results, our trained skin therapists will advise you on your specific needs.
Your therapist will do a skin analysis and recommend a suitable treatment for you. It may be microneedling facial or a chemical peel. Or even a combination of the three. After your skin analysis, she will also let you know how often you will need to come for optimal microneedling results, what creams to use after microneedling as well as recommend the applicable after microneedling care.
It is not advised that you apply sunscreen for at least 24 hours after your microneedling treatment however, it is crucial that you stay out of the sun or wear a hat if necessary for about 3 days after your treatment. We recommend using Nimue Sun-C SPF 50 or Lamelle’s Helase sunscreen post treatment.
Please don’t wash your face for at least 8 hours after treatment. The ingredients are still active on your face, so for optimal results kindly refrain from washing.
Don’t panic, we get this question a lot. After 24 hours, use a gentle cleanser to cleanse the face for the following 72 hours and gently dry the treated skin. Always make sure that your hands are clean when touching the treated area. Don’t take any inflammatory medicines for at least 2 weeks post-treatment. It is recommended that makeup or sunscreen should not be applied for 24 hours after the procedure. Do not apply any makeup with a makeup brush, especially if it is not clean. After the initial 24 hours, apply a broad-spectrum chemical-free UVA/UVB sunscreen with a minimum SPF 30 for two weeks such as Nimue Sun-C or Lamelle Helase to avoid sun damage.
